PROGRESSIVE and FIESTA


PROGRESSIVE

The place of Dumalag are known to be progressive town in Capiz because in its newly construct air conditioned Civic Center, the bridge from the Poblacion connects to barangay of San Roque, and they also proposed convention hall that soon to be put up at the Plaza. The native people planted corn, peanuts, sugar cane and palay for the source of their income. The said town has its only one College that is located in the Poblacion Dumalag assisted by the TESDA. The means of their transportation are the jeepney, deluxe (bus), minicab, tricycle and pedicab.

FIESTA

Every year-end there are always an improvement in Dumalag which is to  Captivate to all visitors, at the same time through these improvement they celebrates some of the Festivals that could encouraged the native people to be socialize to other. “Taw-anay Gugma” was the theme for their celebration for the town fiesta as they celebrates in every 6 to 11th Day of November. The Ekin-Ekin Dance Competition is a Street Dance and the main highlight of the said event that capture a lot of people waiting for them to dance on the street. Celebrating the fiest of Saint Martin of Tours, it is a religious fiest of Catholic that happened every year. Another Festival that captivate the attention of many people is the “Dinagsa sa Dumalag” hook every last Sunday of January, that was to celebrate the fiest of Santo NiƱo. It is the culture for the native of Dumalag to celebrate and continue those festivities in the sense that to know its existence, meaning, importance and also its main purpose.
